About
“By externalizing effort and reward on different actors, authority creates fundamental incentive problems. The primary function of authority is to create privilege: the wielder of power is able to externalize the costs of his decisions on others, while appropriating the benefits for himself." - Kevin Carson
"If you are in Brazil and you grew up in a right-wing dictatorship, you think Marxism is liberating. But if you grew up in Czechoslovakia, and the Soviet Union is controlling everything and killing people, then you think capitalism is liberating. Neither of those two things are true and it doesn't take a lot brains to understand this." - Jose Padilha
This is mostly a personal experiment/practice to keep some portion of my skills sharp and also write about events and interests. If you happen to care about my origins or what I do, I'm a robotics engineer trained in computer science and public policy living and working far away from the Bay Area. The above quotes and color layout of this web-site should be enough to indicate my political views.
The early-web aesthetic is intentional. I'd rather take a more active role in maintaining this site instead of setting-up/using Wordpress/Blogger or some other social media site. This also means that the site can be rendered without all the ads/trackers/bells-and-whistles that other platforms use, with the simplest of hardware.
